Marine Guide
At ease, recruit! You have just been accepted into the ranks of the number one military force in the entire world. Wear our emblem with pride as it won't be an easy ride to keep the morals of justice alive. You'll be fighting for your life against every foe possible. You'll see the world, meet interesting people and most importantly, make the world a safer place for your family to live in. In our fight against the unruly pirates and other criminals, defeat is not acceptable. Do not let a single law breaker past your sign! Absolute Justice will reign supreme!

What's that? You don't know about Absolute Justice? Well, you won't get very far in the Marines without knowing the basics!

What is Absolute Justice?

To put it in the most basic form possible, the doctrine of Absolute Justice means that if a criminal is caught doing the crime, they must be caught whatever the cost. If it means that we have to unleash a Buster Call just to catch a pirate with a high bounty on their head, then so be it. As long as Absolute Justice is carried out that is all that matters. Remember, pirates are the biggest threat to the peace and helping them in the smallest way will lead to a direct form of punishment, with no trial whatsoever. Just so you never, ever forget this most basic rule of life in the Marines we have it slapped on the uniform of every commissioned officer. And who knows maybe one day, you'll even make it to that very rank. But before you can do that, you must know the hierarchy of this organisation.

Uniform
Upon being enlisted into the Marines, you will be used with the following. You must keep these items clean at all times. One bit of crime could strike a whole ship with illness. Failure to do so will result in potato peeling duty.

* One white shirt (short sleeves) with the seagull logo and MARINE' on the back
* One neckerchief (blue)
* One set of trousers (Dark blue)
* One baseball cap (white) with MARINE' on it
* One sword
* One standard issue rifle

Wear this with honour, Marine. One cannot create an orderly society unless they are orderly themselves. Any breach of uniform will also result in potato peeling duty. Now, we shall look the ranks of the Marines &

Ranks within the Marines

Odd Jobs (Zatsuyo)

If you wish to join the Marines from an early age, then good on you! You'll end up right at the bottom of the pile but look on the bright side the only way is up! When in this position you'll have to carry out very important tasks such as sweeping the decks, cleaning swords and cannonballs and even peeling potatoes when we can't get real Marines to do it. The uniform of an Odd Job is slightly different from that of a normal Marine. They don't get the weaponry and the word MARINE' on the shirt's back is replaced with Odd Job' on the sleeves. Before they became Petty Officers, Koby and Helmeppo were Odd Jobs.

Seaman

This is where your journey within the ranks of the Marines begins! You'll always be on the frontlines of the attack, protecting the innocent from hordes of cutthroats and criminals. You may think you're just a meaningless grunt but you are the glue that holds the Marines together. The ranks of the Seamen are made up of normal soldiers, Recruits (Santohei) and Apprentices (Nitohei). Bellemere, Jango and Double Ironfist Fullbody are part of the Seamen.

Petty Officer
There are three kinds of Petty Officer: Chief Petty Officer (Socho), Second Class Petty Officer (Gunso) and Third Class Petty Officer (Gocho). At this point in your career, you have the choice to stick to a typical Marine uniform or your own clothing. A petty Officer's task is to assist the Headquarters in running a Marine unit. Like all Marines below this rank, Petty Officers are non-commissioned. Marines from this class include Helmeppo (Second Class), Koby (Chief) and Tashigi (Chief, but now Ensign).

Ensign (Shoi)

The rank of Ensign is the first commissioned rank in the Marines. As an Officer, it's their job to help relay orders between the ranks and the Captain. They may also wear the famous coat with Justice' written on it as a type of cloak. Examples of Ensigns within our ranks include Tashigi.

Lieutenant
Lieutenant Third Grade (Chui), Lieutenant (Taii) and Lieutenant Commander (Shosa) make up the Lieutenants. Upon reaching the final rank within the Lieutenants a black suit is normally worn over the white coat gained from Ensign. Lieutenants help in the day to day running of a unit, Third Lieutenant taking over from him should he be ill. The Commanders assist the captain with his various duties. Hexagon, Brandnew, Drake and Rokkaku are Lieutenants.

Captain
Captain Nezumi
A Captain looks after a single ship in a fleet and the most important (Commodore) have a vast fleet of many vessels at their command. Commanders on the other hand, don't control any vessels but act as aides to Captains. When you're under their command, their word is final and only overruled by one of the Admirals. Captains can either be Commanders (Chusa), Captains (Taisa) or Commodores (Junsho). Ripper, Shepard and Jonnathon are examples of Commanders. Morgan, Nezumi, Hina and T-Bone are Captains. Smoker, Nelson and Purin Purin are Commodores.The Marine who takes the photos for the WANTED!' posters is also a captain by the name of Attach.

Vice Admirals (Chujo)
Vice-Admiral Tsuru the Great Tactician
The tasks given to a Vice Admiral are many and they include leading A Buster Call, to help out Admirals and the World Government with tactical advice and choose a new Shichibukai should one get killed. They were the coat that was gifted to them at the rank of Lieutenant, which they can add to using clothing of their own choice. Examples of Vice Admirals are Tsuru, Garp, John Giant, Komil and Jaguar D. Saulo. The five Vice Admirals that led the Buster Call attack on Enies Lobby have as of yet, been unnamed.

Admiral (Taisho)

Admiral Akainu during the Ohara incident.
In all of the Marines, there are only three Admirals. Blue Pheasant, Red Dog and Yellow Monkey (also known as Aokiji, Akainu and Kizaru respectively) answer only to the Fleet Admiral himself, Sengoku. It is their job to give out the order for a Buster Call and to aid Sengoku in his running of the world's number one military power.

Fleet Admiral (Gensui)

This guy is your boss. Anger him and chances are you'll be in hotter water than just peeling potatoes. Sengoku ranks as the most important person in the Marines, answering only to the World Government. He oversees every single operation from his base in the Grand Line, Marie Joie. Sengoku's uniform consists of a baseball cap with a seagull on it; one jacket worn like a cloak and a similar one underneath with boasts a sash and three medals. He is always seen with his pet goat. 20 years ago (during his time as an Admiral), he ordered the Buster Call to strike Ohara. Sengoku is amazingly loyal to the World Government; thinking that anyone who breaks the law is evil' and he even demanded that CP9 Agents were to hunt down the Straw Crew member known as Nico Robin.

And there you have it. Every single last level of this naval power, in all it's glory. But who amongst these ranks has really outdone themselves, all in the name of justice? The following three Marines are a fine example of what you should be aiming for. Well, apart from all that Moral Justice' rubbish.

Commodore Smoker

Smoker can always be seen smoking two cigars at the same time. Although he may seem rough and insensitive at times, he has a soft side. Just don't shout at Smoker. It ruins his pace'. Aside from his Moku Moku No Mi Devil Fruit Powers (also known as the Smoke Smoke Fruit, which allows Smoker to become, create and control smoke), Smoker uses a jutte tipped with seastone. The Commodore joined the Marines along with Captain Hina and rose through the ranks to become the Captain of the Loguetown garrison. Smoker saw the Pirate King himself killed in the town square of Loguetown. Upon Monkey D. Luffy's escape from Loguetown, Smoker quickly abandoned his post to chase after the one pirate he had failed to catch as the Straw Hats ventured towards the Red Line. It was in Nanohana that Smoker caught up with the criminal, only to face off against Fire Fist' Ace. Luffy's brother managed to give the Straw Hats enough time to escape. Naturally, Smoker wasn't pleased. Following the defeat of Sir Crocodile, Smoker denied that his Marines had defeated the Leader of Baroque Works and he was certain that Monkey D. Luffy had taken care of him. Listen Marine. Smoker did defeat Crocodile. Hence why he got promoted to the rank of Commodore. He now plans to follow Luffy and his crew into the New World.

To join agree to these terms, list what island or ocean you want to work at, i'll give you your rank.

Thank you,

You both are admiral, but before you official admirals you have to buy a logia type devil fruit. admirals can only be logia devil fruit users.
